Puppies! Yay!

I do love the challenge of working with puppies! Spent a wonderful hour today with Aspen, who may be one of the cutest little black dogs that I have ever seen! He certainly kept things interesting, and reminded me how much fun life should be.. all he wanted to do was play and eat!

Working on editing the photos now, and uploading them to my portfolio, AND figuring out PrintRoom.. a pretty cool website that allows you to sell your photos to your customers directly without charging you an arm and a leg to do it.

Early Morning Light

Had a fun time this morning, out in the Evergreen Cemetery taking photos with the fabulous morning light. The trees and the shadows that they cast are wonderful! Working on editing them now, and will have them posted soon. I’m excited to see how they turned out!

Next up, a photo shoot with a very adorable puppy! Puppies are so much fun to photograph, and so much fun to play with! Will add them to the website later today!

Busy Summer

How is it that the summertime always seems to get away from me? I had a lot of things planned for myself to do, and I didn’t do many of them, and now we are almost to the end of this fine season.

I’ve got a few hundred photos to edit from my mini-vacation to Southern California, and a ton of new dog photos for the website, from a very nice lady and her lovely three doggies! Am trying to schedule another pet shoot this coming weekend, this time with kitties… always a challenge.

And of course there is the Danskin coming up on Sunday. I feel that is the official end to my summer activites. Then it will be time to break out the fall coat and rain boots.

This week is AWESOME!!!

How is awesome is this week you may ask?

I officially kick-started my triathalon training, I got to hang out with my Mom, finally got to see Lakewold Gardens, turned myself into a really funny ipod app reviewer, and mowed the lawn!

Yay for me!

I got some really nice pictures of Lakewold Gardens today, which is nice, but a bit overpriced on admission for the small size of the place. I will be working on editing them this afternoon, and then hopefully getting some posted tomorrow.

Tomorrow night will be a girls night out, and Sunday if the weather holds out will be a trip up north for maybe some tulips, and maybe some late snow geese.

We shall see, we shall see.

Editing photos is not always fun!

As a photographer, I enjoy taking photos. That probably goes without saying. What I’m not terribly keen on, is all of the editing that goes into them prior to publishing them. Even if it’s just a touch of cropping, or toning down the lighting a touch… it all adds up.

I propose in the future that somebody develop a camera that can just read my mind and make the photos look the way I envisioned them looking, without me doing any work to them!

While I wait for that to happen, I will keep slogging through 2 weekends of photoshoots, and weeding out the best of the best, and posting them for the enjoyment of the general public!

The weather decided to give us a break today, and it was beautiful and mostly sunny for a few hours. Just long enough to get off some really adorable shots of a really adorable 3 year old.

I didn’t know what to expect with shooting kids, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! I look forward to shooting more of them in the future!

This has been a great week so far!! Yesterday I found out that I passed the VTNE (Veterinary Technician National Exam) and that means that I get to be paid more in my “real life” job! So that’s a huge YAY! Today I had a great shoot with a very nice lady, and I think we got some great shots! I think that I’m almost ready to present myself to the world as a “photographer” instead of a “veterinary assistant, and part time photographer”. Good things are starting to happen!

I’m always looking for more interesting people to shoot… maybe there are some more out there.

Wild Weather!

The weather in Seattle continues to blow my mind! We woke up to snow this morning, changed to rain pretty quick, got blasted by some serious wind then had FANTASTIC sun breaks.

In the midst of all of this we drove around and got some great views (and photos) in Magnolia and then at Alki. I really enjoyed Alki and will certainly go back once the weather warms up a bit. With the wind today, it was bitterly cold.

Seattle Morning Glory

Last weekend I had a wonderful photo shoot down at the Seattle Waterfront, and Pike Place Market. While it was cold enough to turn my feet into little blocks of ice, the light was perfect, and there were just enough people out to make things interesting, but not so many that it was a nuisance.

I enjoyed myself immensely, and got more nice shots than I have gotten in one place in quite some time!

Have one shoot scheduled for the weekend, hope it turns out well!

Dogs are Wonderful

Well, you can’t always count on everybody to always do what they say. But you can count on your dogs to pose very prettily for you when you want to. Or at least I can. Olivia must be the worlds largest ham. As soon as she sees the camera come out, she is right there at attention.

Since my human model was unable to make it today, I decided to spend some time shooting the dogs. I can never get enough of my puppies. Here are my two favorites.
